Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is leading the way in environmental sustainability. The hotel has this year been recognized by the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water as a Bronze Partner in the Sustainability Advnatge Program.

Minister for the Environment Robyn Parker has congratulated a group of NSW businesses that are leading the way in sustainability while at the same time giving a big boost to their bottom line.
Ms Parker presented awards to 63 businesses that have shown outstanding results in their involvement with the Government’s Sustainability
Advantage program. "These businesses have introduced initiatives that have reduced their environmental impact while also slashing their costs – it is a win for the environment and a win for the businesses involved," Ms Parker said.
The 63 businesses that were recognised in Gold, Silver and Bronze awards have saved $23.8 million, including 42,509 MWh of electricity, 98,729 MJ of gas, 2.2 billion litres of water, 45,000 tonnes of waste.
"This is about introducing practical changes today that create sustainability for tomorrow and help businesses reduce their costs," Ms Parker said. "These businesses and organisations are leaders in each of their sectors, successfully bringing sustainability into their operations, engaging staff and customers in improving environmental performance and achieving solid water, energy, waste and cost savings.
This year the award winners include recognition of the first two Gold Partners, Converga and Focus Press, 15 Silver Partners and 46 Bronze Partners.
Novotel Wollongojng Northbeach was recognised with a Bronze Award.
Since 1998 Novotel Wollongong Northbeach has achieved some impressive sustainability results including reducing electricity consumption by 1,000,000Kwh or 22% per annum; reducing water consumption by 39 million litres or 52% per annum and reducing waste to landfill by 103 tones or 48% per annum.The hotel is proud to be a leader in environmental sustainability and will continue to promote environmentally sustainable business practices.
